My Two Cents Worth...

If you are one of those people who gets offended by the thoughts and personal opinions of others, and cannot refrain from posting or arguing your own opinion, Please look away! Its called "Freedom of Speech" and I'm about exercise it :P ...

Let me start this Blog post with... IN MY OPINION, (because that's what this is) The majority of our Country's problems stem with the fact that we (yes I said We) are raising a generation of individuals who feel entitled, and do not feel that anyone has the right to tell them what to do. I will never forget the day my Middle school daughter (whom is an adult and Mother now herself) came home from school with a card for the child abuse hotline # and informing me that her teacher told her she had rights, While I do understand that there are children in this world that need someone to speak out for them and protect them from family members who are abusing them. I absolutely appreciate this practice. I do however feel that some how, some where our children have gotten the idea that their "wants" are their "rights as an individual, and have been taught that they have the right to do whatever they want, and say whatever they want to those in authority (in disrespect) without any consequences, (because they have rights).

Lets get to the meat and potatoes of this post...

#1. Children are allowed to be disrespectful to adults, because they are in fear of being reported for child abuse, if they attempt to discipline and teach their own children to do whats right.

#2. We have become a very self centered society, only caring about ourselves and having the best of everything, Paying 3 or 4 times what something is worth, only because of the name attached to it, having the latest and best in technology because all our friends or those whom we idolize have it, and paying more for a vehicle that gets you from one place to the next, than some pay for the home they live in. Just "Trying to keep up with the Jones'"

#3. Because of #2 our children hardly ever hear the word "No" we give them whatever they ask for without teaching them the value of money, we rob them of that feeling to long (dream) for something and work hard to get it. (whether it be washing dishes, taking out the trash or cleaning their own rooms)

#4. I believe that very few people know how to be a "TRUE" friend, honestly caring about another person, and loving them unconditionally, for who and what they are, celebrating your differences, their strengths, your weaknesses, and visa versa. Instead of competing with each other.

#5. We are letting the School's, Churches, and Government raise our children, that's not their responsibility, Its ours!

We owe it to our children and the next generation to be an example of Love and True Friendship to others, and most of all deserving of the respect we so desire from them. Lets show them how to care about others more than our own selfish desires, and how rewarding it is to get an education and/or work hard for that paycheck, instead of feeling that they can drop out of school, and still deserve the same paycheck as the well educated, seasoned coworker next to them.

*And While we're at it, Lets teach our daughters and Granddaughters how to be Young Ladies, and our Sons and Grandsons, Gentlemen

In a nutshell... Love, uplift others, Be a TRUE friend, Work hard, and respect authority. (no matter who you are there will always be someone in authority over you)

Lets forget about the "Things" and care more about "PEOPLE".

Because this is Primarily a Photo Blog, I will leave you with some adorable Images of innocence ...
